Voltage Relationships for Sinusoidal Waveforms

Peak-to-Peak voltage from Peak voltage:

\[V_{pp} = 2 \times V_{peak}\]

Peak-to-Peak voltage from RMS voltage:

\[V_{pp} = 2 \times \sqrt{2} \times V_{rms}\]

Peak-to-Peak voltage from Average voltage:

\[V_{pp} = 2 \times \frac{\pi}{2} \times V_{avg}\]

Important Notes:

  • These conversions assume a pure sinusoidal waveform
  • For non-sinusoidal waveforms, different conversion factors may apply
  • RMS values are commonly used in power calculations
  • Peak-to-Peak values are often used in signal analysis and oscilloscope measurements
